Health and well-being are crucial aspects of a successful study abroad experience, and our Medical Support Orientation and Assistance Services are specifically designed to ensure that international students are well-prepared to access and navigate healthcare systems in their host country. Moving to a new environment often means adapting to a different medical system, insurance policies, emergency procedures, and access points for health services — all of which can be overwhelming without proper guidance. This service provides students with a comprehensive overview of the local healthcare infrastructure, including how to register with general practitioners (GPs), student health centers, hospitals, and pharmacies.
We also offer detailed information on how health insurance works, what coverage is required (whether private or public), how to file a claim, and how to use student medical plans effectively. During orientation, students are introduced to emergency helplines, mental health resources, sexual health clinics, and dental services. Guidance is also provided on when to visit a hospital vs. a clinic, how to book medical appointments online or in person, and what documents to carry during a health visit.
Special attention is given to helping students understand common healthcare protocols such as how prescriptions are issued, what to do in case of illness or accidents, and how to deal with language barriers when communicating with medical staff. Our team ensures that every student is aware of their rights as a patient, how to maintain their health proactively, and where to find culturally sensitive and student-friendly healthcare providers. By empowering students with this essential knowledge, we help ensure that they feel safe, supported, and confident in accessing medical care whenever needed during their time abroad.
